Built from complete daily records for 889 stations; each station's history begins on its own start date
Snow water equivalent is the depth of water a snowpack would produce if it melted completely. Rankings use SWE rather than snow depth because depth changes with snow density, while water content stays comparable across sites. The median for each station and calendar day comes from the NRCS 1991-2020 record.
